The Molsons Bank is 1 of 13 heritage buildings included as part of the SRO Renewal Initiative (SRORI) Project – a large scale P3 Design / Build initiative let out by BC Housing and PartnershipsBC. The goal of the SRORI Project was to improve the quality of accommodation, functionality, safety and livability for both residents and staff in each of the 13 buildings with safety /security being of paramount importance during the design /consultation phase. The Molsons Bank has been rehabilitated to provide 40 residential housekeeping SRO suites, each equipped with a new stainless steel sink c/w shelving, bar fridge, and microwave. Each floor incorporates common washrooms, showers, janitorial closets, a new corridor pressurization system delivering a constant ventilation source to suites, and a new CCTV security system; all promoting a high level of building livability /security. A common kitchen /amenity area, laundry facilities, storage, and administrative offices are located on site to provide a safer and better quality of life for residents. The existing elevator was upgraded to meet current code requirements and a bed bug treatment room is located in the basement level.
