The Village on False Creek (former sefc Millennium Water) is a new sustainable community and brownfield redevelopment in Vancouver’s Southeast False Creek (SEFC), a former industrial site. The project was designated as Vancouver’s Olympic Athletes’ Village for the 2010 Games. This project comprises small a contemporary Teahouse situated on the 19th floor roof of Vancouver’s Shaw Tower. While based on traditional Japanese Teahouses, and modeled on a Tatami mat module, the building is thoroughly modern. It features an accordioning table that folds into the floor, creating a level walking surface. When raised, the table accommodates sitting guests for tea ceremonies.

In a celebration of his cultural and architectural heritage, Principal Gregory Borowski participated in an exhibition presenting works by Polish Canadian Architects in Vancouver, on display at the AIBC Gallery from June 8th ~ July 31st (9:00 AM ~ 5:00 PM). Along with Greg’s works are included the works of his late father, Kristof Borowski, an accomplished architect and artist in his own right.
