Lanes Landing is located in a key waterfront site 10 minutes from Cowichan Bay township, immediately to the west of the existing Cherry Point Marina and bordered by full growth trees and a natural ravine to the west. The proposed development will feature nine clustered cottage town homes, four duplex cottages, and the relocation, restoration and expansion of the existing Wilcuma lodge building which will include an adjoining community and fitness amenity, along with the potential for two additional units on the top level of the heritage structure.
The existing “Lanes Road” will connect to a new private site road which will be re-graded and sloped to allow for a properly resized configuration for emergency vehicle access. The proposal also calls for the private road to have a “Statutory Right of Way” reserved to allow for public access down to the waterfront. The development will feature natural ventilation, and ground and ocean source geothermal energy. Lanes Landing open green space is maximized by the use of green roofs and a unique split grade parking strategy.
