Set in the High Sierras encompassing three of the four corners of the town’s major intersection at Main and Minaret Streets, the design of a vibrant village centre was envisioned.
The planning incorporated resort condominium, luxury hotel, restaurant, and boutique retail/commercial uses. Formal arrangement of the buildings seek a diversity in scale and form unfolding and settling on the landscape around a series of courtyards, piazza’s and squares. The public/pedestrian environment takes precedent serving to enhance the interconnection of the sites and unifying the precinct within the town core.
At an advanced conceptual state, the buildings will be rich in compositional material and detail reflective of the great resort lodges of the Sierras. Detailed with robust and textured materials, they will be built in traditional craftsman ways establishing a link to the high mountain heritage of dwelling within nature and complimenting the natural experience serving to frame dramatic views of the surrounding Sierra landscape.
