As the Executive Architect for the award winning 410 West Georgia (Deloitte Summit), a mixed-use, steel construction office tower project designed by the firm OSO from Japan, Merrick Architecture were asked to design, document and follow through with construction administration services regarding a tenant improvement for the firm SPACES.
The SPACES tenant improvement was a modern, contemporary design that respected the exterior building design aesthetic. It created standalone central / interior office “pods” of glass and aluminum panels allowing natural light to penetrate through the glazed outer offices at the exterior façade, into the central / interior offices. The design incorporated crisp, simple detailing and a minimal material palette using glass, wood, aluminum clad panelling and epoxy flooring material in common areas. Dropped ceilings c/w a knife-edge end condition were used in specific areas and partially down corridors creating a low/high ceiling experience. The remainder of the ceiling was left open to expose the large base building
steel beams and secondary steel members.
